my fascination with small things (part 3?)
for those following along at home, i have posted about fairy doors and mini people hanging out on food and little folks hanging out in london. this goes further than them all into the realm of small...microscopic, even:
the eye of the needle: the microminiatures of hagop sandaldjian
an exhibit at the museum of jurassic technology of tiny sculptures that could take as many as 14 months to complete done in the eyes of needles, on grains of rice... and even on clear strands of hair. work on this scale must be done between beats of the pulse, protected from the breath, so delicate.
see the collection here.
the fox and the crow, la fontaine
in
the eye on the needle the crow is seated on the branch of a tree,
keeping a piece of cheese in its beak, while the cunning fox is asking
the crow to sing a song.
